Despite the title, this 1969 flic et voyou flick is definitely NOT a mob movie: the clan are a family of Sicilian crooks in France headed by Jean Gabin who spring Alain Delon from jail for a massive jewel robbery, with Lino Ventura's dogged cop on the trail. After professional hitman Jef Costello is seen by witnesses his efforts to provide himself an alibi drive him further into a corner.

Henry Verneuil's direction raises the standard, while Delon, Ventura and Irina Demick offer good value.

Comme expliqué dans le titre c'est le format que je critique, pas le film qui est génial, ce n'est plus la peine de le préciser : bon scénario, excellents acteurs, bonne photo quelques scènes mythiques sans parler de la musique d'Ennio Morricone qui est sublime, un film à voir et à revoir.

Pour des gens comme moi, qui ne sont pas de naissance française, ça m'aide à comprendre.
